A hardside waterbed is as the name suggests - A simple box with frame to contain the waterbed mattress, liner and Heater. Waterbed frames can be simple to elaborately hand carved pine beds.  Even some upholstered frames are hardsided waterbeds.

There is a very nice range of hardsided waterbed styles to choose from. Over recent years Softsided water beds have increased in popularity because; Hardsided waterbeds are not so easy to get in and out of compared to softsided waterbeds. Hardsided waterbeds are not so easy to make because the waterbed cover has to be tucked under the waterbed mattress. Special fitted sheets need to be ordered from your waterbed retailer for hardsided waterbeds.
