Choosing your waterbed mattress
- Either you have an existing waterbed and wish to replace the waterbed mattress.
- Or you are buying either a new Hardside Waterbed or Softsided waterbed
- There is a range of five Waterbed mattresses, and also the option to have dual mattresses with a combination of your individual preference in each side.
- This guide should help you choose the stability of your waterbed mattress.
- Inside the 9" (23cm) mattress are layers of fiber that dampen the movement of the water.
All are made to the same very high standard & give the same support. Do not get confused between the stability of the waterbed to how firm or soft it is. Adding water makes the waterbed mattress firmer, taking water out, makes the waterbed mattress softer. Read or Blog on waterbed mattresses or watch our Youtube video.

Free Flow Waterbed Mattress
Contains no fiber, & as the name suggests it will move for at least 15 seconds before settling. Traditionally this is how a waterbed was made, giving rise to the image that a waterbed will make you seasick. |
|
Semi Stable (50%) Waterbed Mattress
Stops moving after about 5 seconds. With only a small price increase as you step up through the range. |
|
Stable (75%) Waterbed mattress
With about 3 seconds movement, this mattress still has the feel of sleeping on a waterbed, but you are less disturbed by the movement of the water or a partner. |
|
Super Stable (95%) Waterbed mattress
The only movement in this mattress is as it gently moves to re-adjust to support your body. |
|
Ultra Stable (99%) Waterbed mattress
Filled with 5 layers of fiber absorbing nearly all of the waters movement. This waterbed mattress is nearly completely stable. |

Dual Waterbed Mattresses – With individual choice of motion
1. Water displaced by one person does not affect the other. (Important if one person is of above average weight).
2. Although movement is slightly transmitted from one mattress to the other, it is greatly reduced.
3. Each mattress has its own temperature control. |
